Learn Suffolk was founded in 2009 after a friend joked that husband Joseph’s and wife Carolyn’s areas of specialization complemented each other so perfectly that they should open a tutoring center together.

 

Joseph is a fourth-year doctoral candidate in Mathematics with a specialization in mathematical physics at SUNY– Stony Brook.  He has extensive experience teaching and tutoring high school and college level classes, and scored a perfect 800 on his SAT Math test in high school.

Carolyn is  a certified public school teacher, and holds a master’s degree in Language Education.  She taught German in the Smithtown Central School District before accepting a position as a German/English instructor at the Long Island Conservatory, a private institution affiliated with SUNY-Old Westbury.  She scored a perfect 800 on her SAT English test in high school.
